call for papers: “Surprise, Shock, Terror and Triumph in the Ancient World”

UWICAH – The 2013 Colloquium – 16th to 17th of May

This year the University of Wales Trinity Saint David is organising the annual UWICAH colloquium to be held at Gregynog Hall. The theme of this colloquium is on Surprise, Shock, Terror and Triumph in the Ancient World. We are inviting applicants to submit papers on any of these themes from either a literary, historical or archaeological perspective. If you are interested in giving a paper please submit a title to Dr Matthew Cobb –  m.cobb@tsd.ac.uk

The colloquium is running from 3pm on Thursday 16th to 3pm on Friday the 17th. The prices for attendance are £85 for academic staff/affiliates and £45 for students. This will include afternoon tea and a two course evening dinner on the Thursday, overnight accommodation, and on Friday, breakfast, tea and biscuits, as well as a one course lunch.
